Lyrical Worship
Today’s blog posting involves that of lyrical worship. Often churches today are seemingly rendered ineffective due to internal strife over personal preference of worship styles, architectural design, and even thermostat settings. Some, including myself, have noticed over recent decades the dwindling theology of worship songs. However, not all new songs are weak theologically or devoid of genuine worship of risen King. This blog is devoted to two relatively new songs that, in the eyes of the author, are deeply rooted in authentic, lyrical (and musical) worship.
Artist: Phil Wickham
Album: Cannons (2007)
Track: Beautiful
Lyrics:
I see Your face in every sunrise
The colors of the morning are inside Your eyes
The world awakens in the light of the day
I look up to the sky and say
You’re beautiful
I see Your power in the moonlit night
Where planets are in motion and galaxies are bright
We are amazed in the light of the stars
It’s all proclaiming who you are
You’re beautiful
I see you there hanging on a tree
You bled and then you died and then you rose again for me
Now you are sitting on Your heavenly throne
Soon we will be coming home
You’re beautiful
When we arrive at eternity’s shore
Where death is just a memory and tears are no more
We’ll enter in as the wedding bells ring
Your bride will come together and we’ll sing
You’re beautiful
I see Your face, I see Your face, I see Your face
You’re beautiful, You’re beautiful, You’re beautiful
Artist: Hillsong United
Album: Across the Earth: Tear Down the Walls (2009)
Track: You Hold Me Now
Lyrics:
Verse 1:
On that day when I see
All that You have for me
When I see You face to face
There surrounded by Your grace
All my fears swept away
In the light of Your embrace
Where Your love is all I need
And forever I am free
Pre Chorus 1:
Where the streets are made of gold
In Your presence healed and whole
Let the songs of heaven
Rise to You alone
Chorus:
No weeping no hurt or pain
No suffering You hold me now
You hold me now
No darkness no sick or lame
No hiding You hold me now
You hold me now
Verse 2:
In this life I will stand
Through my joy and my pain
Knowing there’s a greater day
There’s a hope that never fails
Where Your Name is lifted high
And forever praises rise
For the glory of Your Name
I’m believing for the day
Pre Chorus 2:
Where the wars and violence cease
All creation lives in peace
Let the songs of heaven
Rise to You alone
Bridge:
For eternity
All my heart will give
All the glory to Your Name
Oh the possibilities…when this generation of God’s people get what authentic, God-centered worship really is…when we practice such worship in honor of who He is and what He has invited us to be a part of…then a lost and dieing world will truly see and desire the King of Kings and Lord of Lords…the Alpha and the Omega…
God’s Chisel by The Skit Guys
A great skit/video by the ever creative “Skit Guys.” Can’t wait to have them at our Student Evangelism Conference in 2010. Great guys and great communicators of biblical truth. What if our students…what if our adults really got this? Oh the possibilities…
From Dreams to Realities

Hello and welcome to the site of Imagine Ministries on the worldwide web! Since the early days of praying and conceptualizing what God was leading us to do with the ministry, we never envisioned that God would have allowed us to be where we are today both personally and as a ministry. Imagine has now partnered with churches in over 30 states and 4 international locations. Our hope and prayer is that this new website (blog included) will become a valuable tool for you and your church to advance the Kingdom through making multiplying disciples of students and their families.
As you might have noticed by the title of this blog (Oh the Possibilities…), the intent of this blog is open ended. We hope that this blog does not turn into what many ministry blogs have become…a way to report what we’ve done ministry-wise. Though there may be reporting that takes place in this blogosphere, the goal is, as the title suggests, that we dream together on the possibilities of the worldwide change that can and will take place through students and families sacrificially obedient to what God has called them to do. May our interactions on this blog reveal the passion, the creativity, and the call to pour biblical truth into…foster spiritual growth in…and provide evangelistic, mission-focused opportunities for students that we all share. May a thought on the unending possibilities lead us to a better understanding of the responsibilities and privileges that God has commissioned us to be a part of. Oh the possibilities…
